EF Life Club - Comedian Day-10-03-2009
On March 6th, 2009, there was a Comedian Day for an EF life Club in Jember. The event was attended by five EF Real English students. The five students were mostly from levels RE2 and RE5. Some of the students were already acquainted with one another but not all of them. The Life club began with an introduction to definitions of different kinds of jokes. For example: slapstick, corny jokes, and put downs. I gave the students examples of these jokes and we proceeded to laugh, although there were so few of us. After the introduction to different kinds of jokes that can be told, I explained briefly the humor of many American?s and what they find humorous. I told some jokes from America and explained words that students were unfamiliar with. After the introduction to jokes, we discussed what the students found to be humorous. Some told jokes about how people pronounce words or the way a person sings to be funny.
Milking the Cow @ MILKU-10-03-2009
Saturday,31 January 2009 EF Jember had a life club activity, which is ? Milking the Cow?. There were 23 participants; we left EF at 1.30 pm by an army truck. We got to the milk factory at about 1.45 pm. When we got there we were welcomed by the trip guide. First, he took us to see the born where they kept the adult cow?s food, which is made from recycled soybean, minerals, proteins, calcium, and vitamins.
Next, he took us to see the 2-6 month-old calves. The guide explained that they only can drink the mother?s milk and not the food. The cows that are allowed to be milked are the 2 year-old cows. After that, he took us to the processing place where they pasteurized and fermented the milk from the cow. The factory could produce more than 1000 liter of packaged milk from 400 cows. Then, he got us a cow to be milked. So the 23 participant took turn to milk the cow. It was most exciting part of this life club. Of course, we were accompanied by a well-trained instructor.

Teacher Workshop 2008-28-10-2008
Pada hari Sabtu, 25 Oktober 2008 di Ballroom Dinasti Panorama Hotel, diikuti 40 guru SMP dan SMA se-Jember dan sekitarnya. Dengan pembicara Fenty Adiwinata (Surabaya) dan John Pendergrass (USA), Workshop dengan tema Teaching With Minimal Resources and Using Visual Aids ini berlangsung dengan lancar dan menyenangkan.
Respon dari para peserta sangat positif, sehingga diharapkan akan ada workshop lanjutan di kemudian hari dengan tema yang lain.
